In Topic Study Group 1, we
will discuss mathematics curriculum
development in primary schools, with emphasis on mathematics
reform in different countries represented in our TSG.
Specific topic areas may include, but are not confined to,
the following:
- Reforming,
developing, implementing, and evaluating primary
mathematics curriculum.
- Comparative
studies on primary mathematics in the East Asia and the
West.
- Connections
and disconnections of mathematics curricula between
secondary and primary schools.
- Formation,
transformation, and reformation of primary mathematics
curriculum in and for teaching and learning mathematics.
- Trends
in mathematics curriculum reform at the primary level
and new mathematics ideas for the primary curriculum
reform.
- Mathematics
curriculum in different cultural traditions.

for Papers

The Organizing Team of TSG 1 is inviting the submission of
papers for presentation and distribution. |
| Papers
may be proposed for the presentation in two different
formats: |
- Parallel
session papers, related to specific topic areas
- Poster
Presentation
|
|
The
official language of the conference is English. Papers or
Posters for the proceedings must be written |
| and
presented in English. |

Based on a careful refereeing process, the Organizing Team
will decide on whether to accept the paper, |
| and
(if relevant) in what special group the paper is to be
presented. Notification of this decision will |
| be
given no later than April 6. 2005. |
